Our Story
Established in 1985, Aurora Fires & Fireplaces began its journey with the sole focus of manufacturing quality marble fireplaces for the UK independent trade. We have developed from a small family run company into one of the most trusted and recognisable names within the fireplace industry.
Aurora’s showroom collection now offers a vast range of products including traditional marble fireplaces, stunning media wall fires and innovative bio ethanol stoves that are guaranteed to ignite the centre of your home. Our quality fires and fireplaces create an impressive focal point that needs to be experienced first-hand.

OUR APPROACH
It is in the marble where our fireplaces come to life, each fireplace is lovingly crafted from a single scant, inspected by eye by our expert team to ensure an absolutely flawless finish. It takes great skill on the part of our designers, but also our craftspeople to work the marble into a stunning product.

Our Marble
All of the marble surrounds that we produce at Aurora are made from the highest quality micro-marble.

Sourced from specially selected quarries across the globe, our micro-marble is engineered from natural marble through a purification process that removes any blemishes or inconsistencies. This process seals the naturally porous marble against moisture, meaning that our fireplaces gain an extra layer of protection from every day wear & tear.

Traditional Skills
21st Century Method
For intricate details we turn to 21st century technology - CNC cutting, this process does what used to take hours of hard work. Putting form into the marble, and allowing our designers to create beautiful fireplaces that would have been too costly to produce any other way.
Once cut to shape, each component is moved by hand to an edge polishing station. Here each surface is polished to a glass-like shine, with every surface inspected by eye to ensure a faultless finish.
Quality Assured
Every craftsman at Aurora is responsible for ensuring each component conforms to a strict standard, so when it comes to assembly, everything fits together with perfection. Each piece of marble is brought to a flawless finish, with even the slightest surface imperfection being expertly removed with careful hand-polishing.

As the marble moves through the manufacturing process it is expertly maneuvered by hand, a chance for each and every craftsman to inspect their work. We take pride in the quality of our marble, it’s in our blood and it ensures absolute consistency in every fireplace we make.
Hand Assembled
The final stage in the process, the accumulation of many hours hard work, and an art form we would not trust to a machine. Each component is expertly brought together and skilfully aligned by sight and feel alone, a firm but caring touch to turn marble into fireplaces.
Each part is inspected then packaged using our own methods developed over many years, a final step to ensure it leaves our factory the way we intended. Only 10 people ever handle our marble over the course of its journey from scant to fireplace, a process repeated 1000’s of times a year, a testament to the skill and passion of everyone involved.
THE FIRED UP YEARS
In July 2011 Aurora Marble became a part of Fired Up Corporation Ltd. Owned by Huddersfield entrepreneur Richard Kaye, Fired Up Corporation’s product portfolio of electric fires and fireplaces was a natural fit for the Aurora fireplace range.
Having grown up in a house just over the road from the Aurora site, Richard’s local knowledge and business guidance has seen Aurora and Fired Up grow from a small enterprise to become one of the major stakeholders in the UK fireplace industry.
